I just heard that yesterday was National Martini Day. In honor, I’ve found a recipe worthy of both the day and recognition here!
This one comes to us directly from Kahlua, and is really easy to make.
1.5 parts Kahlua
1 part Vodka (I’m a Grey Goose fan personally, but insert your choice of vodka here)
1 fresh brewed espresso
1. Fill a shaker with ice
2. Add Kahlua, vodka, and a fresh brewed espresso.
3. Shake vigorously (an absolute key to a good martini. You probably know that, but what can I say…I care about getting martini’s right!)
4. Strain into a chilled martini glass. I believe that if you spin the ice around in the martini glass it makes it colder. I could be crazy, but I swear it works!
5. Enjoy. Preferably with someone you really, really like.
That’s it. The Martini is an amazing drink. It’s very simple, yet has retained generations of popularity. Simplicity in all things, I suppose.
Alright, I’m off to make (another) one…
